When the polygraph demonstrated her client did not commit any criminal sexual conduct, Kelly reported this information to the investigator and prosecutor assigned to the case. The prosecutor then declined to press charges against Kelly’s client.

    When he was just a teenager, Kelly Keegan’s client was adjudicated delinquent for Felony Fifth Degree Sale of a Controlled Substance, after giving friends marijuana from his house. Twenty years later, he discovered the adjudication prohibited him from possessing firearms when he applied for a Permit to Carry. Kelly petitioned the court to restore her client’s right to possess firearms, demonstrating that he had rehabilitated since his offense, and that he was clearly not a threat to public safety. The Court agreed and granted the client’s petition, restoring his right to possess firearms.

  • Nurse Under Investigation for Manslaughter Avoids Prosecution

    When a patient with a terminal illness suddenly died one night, an investigation was initiated against Kelly Keegan’s client, the patient’s nurse, for lack of care. The accusations could have resulted in charges of Felony Second Degree Manslaughter. After significant communications with the investigator and prosecutor on the case, Kelly was able to demonstrate that the patient’s cause of death was uncertain and that there was no evidence to suggest her client was responsible for the patient’s passing. Ultimately, she convinced the prosecutor to decline to press charges and avoided disastrous consequences for her client.
